Working Hours: 35 per week
Contract details: A permanent full-time position, with hybrid working and some mandatory office days required.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Finance Business Partner within the Operational Finance Team at London Councils. This role is part of a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality financial management services.
Reporting to the Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in the budget setting, monitoring, and financial planning cycle, for an annual budget of £390 million, whilst offering strategic advice to budget holders and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial business partnering to budget holders, including externally funded projects hosted by London Councils.
- Lead on budget preparation, forecasting, and financial monitoring.
- Advise on the financial implications of key management decisions.
- Support the annual accounts closedown process including liaising with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and regulations.
- Build strong working relationships with budget holders and stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a part-qualified or fully qualified member of a CCAB or CIMA accountancy body.
- Have experience managing budgets in a complex, medium or large organisation.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.
- Be confident in advising non-finance colleagues and influencing decision-making.
- Have the ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships.
